Ac installation involves a series of steps that is divided into three parts. Installation of AC involves firstly installation of the indoor unit and the sub steps include ; selection of an unobstructed location on the interior wall to mount the indoor air conditioning unit, securing of the mounting plate to the interior wall and creation of hole to fit in the piping among others. Selection of an unobstructed location of the interior wall to mount the indoor ac unit involves some dos and don’ts.
Avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources, installing the unit at least one meter away from the antenna, connecting lines, power, radio, television, telephones etcetera, the wall should be strong enough to hold the weight of the unit and avoiding locations where oil mist exists or gas may leak are some of the dos and don’ts during selecting a unobstructed location of mounting plate.
In order to secure the mounting plate to the interior wall then some steps are followed. A four step procedure is used in order to secure the mounting plate to the interior wall. The third step is creation of a hole in the wall to fit the piping and involves a three sub step procedure. Some directions have accompanied the steps of creating of a hole in the wall to fit the piping.
The fourth step involves checking the electrical connections which involves lifting the unit’s front panel, removing the cover and being sure the cable wires are connected to the screw terminals. Connecting of the pipes follows suit coupled with other procedures. Connection of pipes involves a lengthy procedure in which finally the drainage pipe allows water to drain in an appropriate place.
The final step to the first part of AC installation which is installation of the indoor unit is securing the indoor unit to the mounting plate by pressing the unit against the mounting plate. Installation of the outdoor condenser is the second step in AC installation. Choosing the best place to the outdoor unit which also involves choosing the outdoor unit location needs away from any hot, trafficked areas and having a considerable space that ensures proper functioning is involved in installation of an outdoor unit. A concrete pad is used to level and lay the ground as a sub step of installation of outdoor unit. The concrete pad should be high enough so that the condenser sits above winter levels.
